We at the Purple Lining (“the Purple Lining”, “We”, “Our” or “Us”) are committed to creating a safe website and protecting the privacy of Our Users. We pride Ourselves on creating a place where young authors can post their creative content safely. We do not attempt to gather any personal information from children under the age of sixteen (16) years. Please read Our Privacy Policy below in order to fully understand Our approach to user safety and the collection and use of personal information.

​The Purple Lining website https://www.thepurplelining.com/ (the “Website”), Privacy Policy and information collection procedures are intended to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the policies and procedures of the Purple Lining for the collection, use, storage, transfer and disclosure of information by Us, through Our Website, which includes its applications, widgets or online services owned or controlled by Us. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to Our Terms of Use. The Purple Lining rests on cloud based web servers hosted by Our third party service provider (currently Wix). Our third party hosts may host your data in servers located in the U.S. or elsewhere. Further, your information may also be stored in any Google forms which you may complete on the Website. However, access to such forms will be restricted to only the authorized personnel of the Purple Lining as described below.

In this Privacy Policy we use these terms:
​Member - the Purple Lining has different types of Members, the term being used to describe a registered user of the Website, whether that person is an an Artist or a Regular Member as defined below;

Artist - a Member who is approved as an Artist on the Website via application. Artist content can be used for cover art or displayed in the Purple Lining gallery.
Regular Member - an individual who signs up for a single general user account. As Regular Members you will be required to confirm your month and year of birth on the website.

Users - People who browse Our Website without becoming Members (i.e. without registering are called “Users” of Our Website.
Content/Articles/Events- User content created or posted on the Website in the prescribed format and user provided metadata associated with them such as descriptions.
Review - A review by the moderating team of the Purple Lining of a story or article submitted by a Member.
The Purple Lining Ambassadors - A Member elected by the internal team of the Purple Lining for promoting the Website, and helping to enroll more Members to the Website.
The Purple Lining Moderator - A Member elected by the internal team of the Purple Lining who will review Content posted on the site, targeting all hateful language or inappropriate content. Every Post will be reviewed by at least two (2) the Purple Lining Moderators.

1. Information We Collect​​
In general you can browse the Website without telling Us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. However, upon writing content or liking others', you must enter your month and year of birth.. With this confirmation, the Purple Lining takes this as true and holds no accountability for any misinformation you chose to provide.

Basic Information: All Members are required to provide a display image, username, pronouns, their email, and a biography. your email shall only be visible to other Users if you expressly choose to make it visible to other Users. Other Members can request to contact other Members; however, this will be moderated by the Purple Lining team. If a Member chooses not to connect with the other Member, they can opt out of this connection, and We will not connect the two. Members can make their email accessible on their profile upon registration. Month and year of birth confirmation is required so that we can comply with COPPA guidelines. If a User is less than sixteen (16) years old, we do not register them as Members, and they will not be allowed onto the site. For Users of sixteen (16) years and above, we allow registrations;

All Members who are 16 (sixteen) years or older and pursuant to such disclosure have been registered as Members, and can post articles, stories, art. If Members are found or reported to be of an age less than 16 years, they will be deregistered and their data will be deleted, and any and all liability of such misrepresentation shall be of such Member;

When signing up to Our Website as a Member, you are required to consent to being above the age of 16 (sixteen) years of age and provide your month and year of birth. If they fail to meet this requirement, Users will not be permitted to use the website. Besides, Members may voluntarily share personal information such as photos, text, art, creative cover designs, or further information. This content may be used in your post content;

Conversations with us: Requests to provide referral to other Members for potential networking, collaboration emails, chats can be aided by Us on a case-by-case basis. We will reach out to the other Members to ensure their willingness to connect with you.
